Oculosil

Description

STERIL Oculosil is designed for preventing the dryness that complicates prolonged exposure of the eye following paralysis of the facial muscles in stroke and Bell’s Palsy, resulting in inadequate closure of the eyelids and inflammation of the cornea.

The device brings two components together; a hypoallergenic non-woven base that adheres to the periorbital margin and a transparent plastic blister that overlies the paralyzed eye. When used on the patient the blister traps and recirculates the tears that would otherwise be insensibly lost to the surrounding air, and in this manner, prevents ocular dryness and its complications.

Oculosil is now recognized as a device that effectively helps to prevent exposure keratitis when it is used regularly.

The product is available as single sterile or sanitized packs of 50 pieces.
