PAP Cytology Set

Description

STERIL PAP Cytology Set is a combination of a cervical brush, cytobrush, microscope glass slide and slide carrier.

The set is intended for facilitating the collection of cells for cervical cancer screening and transporting the specimen to a distant laboratory for reporting.

The cervical brush is used for routine collection of both ectocervical and endocervical cells. The cytobrush is included in the set for the doctor who doubts the efficacy of the cervical brush in reaching the transformation zone of the endocervix and requires full access to the entire lining of the canal for accurate diagnosis.

The suggested procedure is to transfer collected cells from the cervical brush with a single light sweep of the bristles over two-thirds of the slide, and those from the cytobrush with a single roll of the bristles over one-third of the slide. The procedure helps in preparing a thin film for cytological screening.
